Civil Suit Dismissed In Accident Related To Police Shooting

A judge has dismissed a civil lawsuit in a traffic accident following a 2005 Hartford police shooting.

The suit against the city and against former officer Robert Lawlor stemmed from  those injured in an accident involving driver Brandon Henry.  Henry was wounded and his passenger Jashon Bryant killed in the shooting.  Lawlor was later found not guilty of criminal charges in the shooting.

His attorney Michael Georgetti, says the dismissed case dealt with a three-block  chase following the shooting in which it was alleged Henry ran a stop sign traveling 40 to 50 miles an hour and hit a car containing two adults and a baby.

Another civil suit against Lawlor  is pending.
