DOT Chief To Resign
Jeffrey A. Parker, the Interim Commissioner of the State Department of Transportation has submitted his letter of resignation. Parker has been at the helm of the agency for less than a year after he took over for Commissioner Joseph Marie who left abruptly last year.
“I am leaving with very mixed emotions, but also with great anticipation as I embark on a new chapter in my life,” said Parker in a letter to DOT employees. “On one hand, Newington will always be my home and these past few years will provide me with so many more good memories. But as many of you know, this is not my home and my future endeavors will allow me to spend much more time with my family,” he wrote.
Parker’s resignation is effective March 8.
