The submarine base in Groton is warning residents they may see more traffic in the area this coming week as the military conducts anti-terrorism training exercises.
Officials say they have taken measures to limit disruptions, but traffic may be affected by the rapid movement of Navy security forces onto Naval Submarine Base New London.
Cmdr. Mike Pennington is the base’s executive officer. He says the military appreciates the understanding of Groton neighbors during the exercises, which are scheduled to take place between Monday and Friday.
The base says the exercises are part of the military’s regularly scheduled training for security forces.
