Authorities say a Correction Department Program in which wanted suspects were pictured on playing cards distributed to state prison inmates has resulted in an arrest in a five-year-old cold case. It’s the first arrest from the program.
Hartford police say 19-year-old Shawn Dudley was shot and killed while attending a party at the West Indian Social Club on Main Street. Police identified Quan Morgan as a suspect but were unable to find him. The case was designated as the nine of diamonds in the deck of cards distributed to prisoners, and information from that program led police to Morgan.
Morgan is charged with murder. He’s in custody in an unrelated shooting death.
