FBI Agents Raid Storrs Home In Hacking Probe

Witnesses say FBI agents have raided a home in Storrs occupied by University of Connecticut students as part of an investigation of cyber attacks by a group supporting WikiLeaks.

The Journal Inquirer newspaper reports that at least two students were detained and questioned. There were no reports of arrests.

The investigation appears to be connected to the group Anonymous– a loose-knit collection of activists. It has claimed responsibility for attacking the websites of companies such as Visa, Mastercard and Paypal. Those companies severed their links with WikiLeaks after it began publishing its massive trove of secret U.S. diplomatic memos.

The Storrs raid came a day after federal officials issued 40 search warrants related to the hacking.
