Travel Site Restores State

Connecticut is back on the New England map. After the state dropped its dues for the “Discover New England” regional tourism website, the site removed Connecticut from its map and marketing materials.

In a release this morning, Governor Dannel Malloy says the state has paid the $100,000 annual dues, using money already allocated to the Commission on culture and Tourism. He says the “Discover New England” program works to raise awareness in international tourists, the travel industry and the news media, about the attractions of the region year-round.
