NEW BRITAIN, Conn. (AP) _ Police in Connecticut and Massachusetts investigating the deaths of five women have identified one victim found in 2007 and announced that two others whose remains were discovered in 1995 were likely a mother and daughter.
Authorities said Wednesday in New Britain, Conn., that they’re hoping the information generates new leads in the cases. Police said it’s still not clear if the five deaths are related, and no one has been charged.Four victims’ remains were found behind the same shopping plaza in New Britain, including three found in 2007 and one in 1995. Police say the fifth woman, believed to be the 1995 victim’s mother, was found several days later in 1995 in Tolland, Mass.
Police announced that one of the 2007 victims was Diane Cusack of New Britain. The others have not been identified.
