Second Arrest in New Year’s Double Homicide

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) _ Police have arrested a second suspect in connection with a double homicide in Hartford on New Year’s Day.

Authorities say 29-year-old Angel Rivera surrendered to police at about 10:30 p.m. on Monday. He is charged with murder and conspiracy charges in connection with the deaths of 24-year-old Lionel Roldan and 30-year-old Luis Rivera.

Angel Rivera had been at large since the shooting at about 4 a.m. on New Year’s Day.

He is expected to be arraigned Tuesday morning

The other suspect, 20-year-old Jose Medina, was captured New Year’s Day after a chase by police.

Police have said that the shooting appeared to be over Medina’s ex-girlfriend.
