Father of Policeman Charged In Bicyclist's Death Also Faces Charges

The father of a Windsor Locks policeman fired after an accident which killed a teenage bicyclist now faces charges in connection with the accident.

Robert Koistinen of Suffield, a sergeant with the Windsor Locks police,  is charged with hindering prosecution and interfering with a police officer.

24-year-old Michael Koistinen pleaded not guilty to manslaughter charges resulting from the accident that killed 15 year old Henry Dang in November.  Among other things,  he’s accused of drinking in the hours leading up to the 1 a.m. accident,  at a football tailgate event and at a bar.
