Two Fatally Shot in Hartford; Person of Interest in Custody

A West Hartford man is in custody after a fatal shooting on Francis Avenue early New Year’s morning.   Police say nearly twelve hours after the bodies of 24 year old Lionel Roldan of Manchester and 20-year-old Luis Rivera of Hartford were found,   officers called to a report of a domestic incident determined that the suspect in that case was 20-year-old Jose Medina , who had also been named a person of interest in the shootings.

Police say a pursuit ensued,  which finally ended on Kane Street in West Hartford.  Police say they found what they described as a substantial quantity of heroin in Medina’s possession.  He was arrested on charges in the domestic incident,  the motor vehicle pursuit and the drugs.  Police say the homicide remains under investigation.
