BRISTOL, Conn. (AP) _ A report has concluded that there was no cover-up after an on-duty Bristol police officer suspected of being drunk on the job crashed his cruiser in June.
The report released Monday and based on an investigation by a retired West Hartford police captain and the Bristol department’s internal affairs division, does however say the department did not do enough to control public rumors about the crash.
The 1,200-page report was released to The Hartford Courant after a Freedom of Information request.
State police charged Robert Mosback, who resigned from the department, with drunken driving earlier this month.
Police union President Peter Kot said the report confirmed what he always maintained.
