Connecticut Governor Jodi Rell visited WTIC’s Ray Dunaway at the Salvation Army Holiday Store on Friday,  urging residents to donate money, non-perishable food items,   or new unwrapped toys.

Rell pointed out that if every listener to the radio station in a single week were to donate $20,  the effort would bring in nearly $4 million for The Salvation Army.

The governor visited the  Holiday Store location at Homewood Suites by Hilton in Glastonbury,  but there also are Holiday Stores in operation at the Avon Old Farms Hotel at the corner of Routes 44 and 10 and at Lux Bond & Green in West Hartford Center.  They are open and acception donations from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.   They will cease operations at noon December 24.

Or, to donate online, visit www.wtic.com or www.salvationarmyct.org

    Mr. Dunaway,

I Would Officially Thank Governor M. Jody Rell For 4 Years Of Outstanding Leadership In Connecticut. Her Programs & Policies Have Been The Hallmark Of A Successful Republican Administration. I Voted For Her & I Will Continue To Vote Republican In The Yearly November Election. The State Has Prospered From Her Strong Leadership. I Hope That Her Legacy Will Endure As The Governor Who Continued Governor John Rowland’s Platform Of Pro-Business Leadership Through Force Multiplication, Or Aggregation, Of Already Existing Resources. Congradulations On A Job Well Done!
