There’s word the funeral for Hartford Fire Lt. Martin Dirrane will be next week.
Former Deputy Chief Dan Nolan, who established a fund to return Dirrane’s body, tells the Hartford Courant, the remains are due to arrive Friday afternoon at JFK Airport.
The 16-year veteran firefighter was fatally injured in Costa Rica, struck by a car while on vacation Saturday.
The wake is scheduled for Monday from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral home in Wethersfield. The funeral is scheduled for Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Incarnation Church in Wethersfield, followed by burial Wednesday at the Jordan Cemetery in Dirrane’s hometown, Waterford.
