State Police have seized more than 100 pounds of marijuana that authorities say was delivered in gift-wrapped boxes to an address on Townsend Avenue in New Haven Wednesday. Police say the wrapped boxes were even adorned with name tags. Cash was also seized in the operation.
The man accused of accepting the packages, Julio Ramos, 29, of Guilford was arrested on numerous charges including possession of more than one kilo of marijuana, possession with intent to sell, and possession within 1,500 feet of a school. He was held on $750,000 bond.
State Police also searched Ramos’ Guilford home and found more marijuana and cash, said authorities. In all, the operation netted 110.5 pounds of marijuana and $23,770 in cash, said police.
