dryfe neil hpd Cheshire Hires Assistant Top Hartford Cop as Police ChiefNeil Dryfe will  become Cheshire’s  Police Chief on January third.Dryfe has served as a Hartford Police  Officer,Sergeant, Liuetenant ,Deputy Chief and  since  August of 2007, Assistant Chief.Dryfe, who is 43 grew up in Wolcott and attended Holy Cross High School in  Waterbury and has a Bachelor’s degree  in Sociology from the University of Connecticut and  a Masters degree in Criminal Justice Administation from WesternNew England College.

Dryfe was  chosen from a field of  61   candidates.Cheshire Town Manager Michael Milone says Dryfe  “has assumed  a  a number of very challenging , broad and diverse responsibilities and has demonstrated  a consistent record of  achievement  and leadership.”

Dryfe will succeed Acting Chief  Joe Popovich, who has  held the position  since the retirement of  Chief Michael Creuss  at the end of October.
