Griswold Man's Death Ruled a Homicide

GRISWOLD, Conn. (AP) _ The medical examiner has ruled the death of a 24-year-old Griswold man who was shot in the chest allegedly by his father after stabbing his parents as a homicide.

Authorities say David Gemeasky Jr. died of a gunshot wound to the chest.

Police say 45-year-old David Gemeasky Sr. shot his son after he attacked both parents with a knife on Saturday night.

The father is in fair condition at William Backus Hospital, where he is recovering from stab wounds. His wife, 43-year-old Tamara Brennan, was treated and released.

An attorney who represented the younger Gemeasky after an incident at his parents’ home in August tells

The Hartford Courant he was shocked to hear of his former client’s death because he seemed to be heading in the right direction.
