Geophysicists report a small earthquake this morning  off the East Coast,  about 117 miles southeast of Bridgeport.  Julie Dutton with the U.S. Geological Survey says the quake was reported around 10:45 a.m.

The preliminary magnitude was 3.9,  considered a minor earthquake.  No damage is reported.

The USGS system reports the quake was felt across Connecticut and along Long Island.
