Holiday Weekend Speeding Arrests Top 2,200

State police say they’d 2,208 holiday weekend speeding arrests as of 9 p.m. Sunday,  with 151 arrests for failing to wear seat belts,  77 drunk driving arrests,  and 3,348 arrests for other hazardous moving violations,  including unsafe lane changes,  following too closely and using a hand-held cellphone while driving.

They had responded to  10, 234 calls for service,  and investigated 377 accidents,    57 of those with injuries.

    Arrests for speeding??? I hope they didn’t have to let go some rapists to make room for those drivers caught for DWS (driving while stupid).
