First-Time Entrant Wins Manchester Road Race

First-time Manchester Road Race runner Mourad Marofit of Morocco jumped to an early lead in the 74th running of the Thanksgiving day race, even before approaching the Highland Park Hill and extended his lead from there.  WTIC’s Scott Gray reports the unofficial winning time was 21:38.

Dartmouth Olympian Ben True out-kicked Eamon McCarthy for second

Another first-timer,  Sally  Kipyego of Kenya won the women’s division.

15,000 runners registered for the race,  but many others ran without official bibs,  and thousands of spectators cheered them on from the sidelines.
