"Smash-and-Grab" Robberies Reported in Five Towns

Police in at least five towns in the Hartford area are investigating overnight smash-and grab burglaries. Bloomfield, Windsor, South Windsor, East Windsor and Vernon all reported similar crimes.

In East Windsor, a bar and a convenience store were hit in the same plaza along Route five around 3 a-m.   In South Windsor, police say the “Kwik Stop” convenience store on Sullivan Avenue was hit just before 3:30 a.m.

In Vernon, police say three suspects broke into the Subway sandwich shop on Hartford Turnpike and made off with cash and a safe. Surveillance video showed the three wearing hooded sweatshirts,  masks and gloves.  South Windsor police say Windsor and Bloomfield also reported similar crimes.

Anyone with information on the crimes is urged to call police.
