The man suspected of raping a female jogger last month along Fern Street in West Hartford has waived extradition from Massachusetts. Eddie Monroig-Rosario, 31, appeared in Springfield District Court Wednesday morning following his arrest Tuesday near a homeless shelter in Springfield.

West Hartford Police say detectives brought Monroig-Rosario back to Connecticut Wednesday. He is held on $2.5 million dollars court-set bond in West Hartford.  Monroig-Rosario is due in Hartford Superior Court Thursday morning, where he faces charges of sexual assault, strangulation, and unlawful restraint in connection with the October 27 attack, which occurred just before 7:00 a.m.
