A Connecticut employer is cutting hundreds of jobs.
Health Net of the Northeast has filed notice with the state it plans to lay off 750 employees. Health Net announced nearly a year ago it was leaving the northeast market and sold its membership roles and licensees to United Healthcare.
The insurer is closing its Shelton office as part of the transition, and it says those affected are getting 60-days notice, a generous severance package, outplacement services, and an opportunity to apply for other openings within health net and United Healthcare.
The transition is planned over a 14-month-period ending March 2012.
