HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) _ The state Department of Transportation is seeking comment on a draft plan for Connecticut’s passenger and freight rail policy until 2014.
The DOT is holding a public information meeting on Monday at 10 a.m. at the agency’s headquarters in Newington. Department staff will be available 30 minutes before the meeting to informally discuss the plan.
DOT is also accepting written comments from the public through Nov. 23. The input will be considered when the agency prepares its final State Rail Plan for 2010-2014.
The document provides an overview and inventory of the state’s commuter, intercity, and freight rail system and facilities in Connecticut and the services that are provided. The plan also examines the condition of rail assets and the constraints they face.
