HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) _ A Connecticut judge has dismissed a lawsuit by the Republican attorney general candidate over the credentials of her opponent, who won Tuesday’s election.
Hartford Superior Court Judge Julia Aurigemma on Wednesday dismissed Martha Dean’s lawsuit against the Secretary of the State’s office and Democrat George Jepsen, who has been declared winner of Tuesday’s attorney general election.
Dean had not conceded defeat in the race as of Wednesday afternoon.
Her lawsuit questioned whether Jepsen, a fellow attorney, has the required litigation experience to run for attorney general. She said Wednesday she is reviewing her legal options in light of the dismissal.
Jepsen says the lawsuit was frivolous and a last-minute election ploy.
