A handcuffed and shackled prisoner who escaped from a holding room at the New London Courthouse is back in custody,  less than four hours after she escaped.  State police say 28-year-old Michelle Conklin-Chadwick was spotted by a state police sergant as she tried to hide beneath fallen leaves in a wooded area.

Police say she escaped by manipulating a portion of the metal cage in the holding room,  made her way to an unsecured area and fled the courthouse shortly after 3:30 this afternoon.
