NORWALK, Conn. (AP) _ Former President Bill Clinton is coming to Connecticut to campaign for two Democrats, a day after President Barack Obama hopes to rally the party faithful.

U.S. Rep. Jim Himes’ campaign announced Wednesday the former president will appear with the congressman at an 8:30 p.m. rally Sunday, Halloween. The event will be at the Sono Field House in Norwalk.

Clinton is also expected to make a campaign stop Sunday at the University of Hartford for Democratic candidate for governor Dan Malloy.

A Quinnipiac University poll this week has Malloy with a slight lead over Republican Tom Foley. Himes also is in a close race with Republican state Sen. Dan Debicella in Connecticut’s 4th District.

Debicella campaign spokeswoman Ashley Maagero says two visits by presidents just before the election shows Democrats are frantic about losing the seat.
