Arrest Made in New Haven Teen's Shooting

New Haven Police say they’ve arrested a resident of the building where the shooting took place in connection with the death of a teenager while she and a friend were handling a firearm.  16-year-old Jamese Hudson died of a gunshot wound to the head in the shooting yesterday afternoon.

Police have charged 19-year-old Lisette Chiclana-Rodriguez of 14 Garden Street with first degree manslaughter,  unlawful discharge of a firearm,  and carrying a pistol without a permit.  She is held in lieu of a million dollars bond.

Police say after the shooting,  Chiclana-Rodriguez fled the scene,  and tried to hide the weapon at the home of a friend.   Detectives say they recovered a .380 caliber handgun believed to have been used in the shooting,  but they’re not saying just where they found it because additional arrests are expected.
