Attorney General Candidates in Second Debate
HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) _ The Democratic and Republican candidates for Connecticut
Attorney General will face off in their second debate.
Democrat George Jepsen and Republican Martha Dean will go head-to-head Monday at the Quinnipiac University Law School in Hamden. The debate comes as Jepsen’s campaign unveils its first statewide television ad.
In the 30-second commercial also released Monday, the Ridgefield lawyer highlights some of his work as a former member of the Connecticut legislature and says he will try to help the state’s economy if elected.
Jepsen and Dean, a lawyer from Avon, are seeking to replace Democrat Richard Blumenthal, who has been attorney general for 20 years. Blumenthal is seeking the U.S. Senate seat vacated by Sen. Christopher Dodd.
