Quite a newsworthy day at the Burton Family Football Complex.
From the actual football side of things, Michael Box now the #2 qb and Zach Frazier #3. Surprising to many but Randy Edsall said in his mind, if Cody Endres needs to be replaced, it will be the redshirt freshman from Georgia. While you feel bad for Frazier, you trust the head coach to know what is best for his team.
Eric Kurecza takes over for Matt Olivier as starting left guard. Kurecza, unlike Endres, did not play in his first game of the season on Saturday so he will come in cold against Vanderbilt. But the biggun from Ansonia was the starter last year before he was injured against Syracuse.
Edsall did say he was confident Scott Lutrus would play again this season. Could it be this Saturday. We’ll have to wait and see but if it isn’t, the Huskies have a plan with Gary Wilburn as the nickle back although Vandy runs far more than passes.
As far as the fight between David Teggart and Jerome Williams, I liked Edsall’s approach. Two guys throwing punches, no one else involved, he will handle it. My guess is neither young man will be sleeping much past 5:30 am for the next couple of weeks.
A Vandy scouting report on Friday.
