Bysiewicz Says Mortgage Foreclosure Will Not Affect Voting Rights

Secretary of the State Susan Bysiewicz says there have been reports that activists in some states may challenge the residency of voters whose homes have been foreclosed on,  when the residents go to vote in November.’

Bysiewicz says she wants to reassure the thousands of Connecticut residents who have been caught in the housing crisis that the economic downturn will not mean they are denied their right to vote.

She says those whose homes have been foreclosed on should check with their local Registrar of Voters and fill out a new registration card before October 26th if need be.
