NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) _ New Haven police have charged a second man in connection with a downtown shootout that injured two people and forced officers to return fire.
Eighteen-year-old Cornell Tucker of New Haven was charged Saturday with first-degree assault, attempted first-degree assault and gun crimes. He was held in lieu of $1 million bail and is expected to be arraigned in New Haven Superior Court on Monday.
Police arrested the other suspect, 27-year-old Cadell Harris of New Haven, last week in connection with the Sept. 19 shootout. Authorities accuse Harris of shooting at city officers, who returned fire and weren’t injured.
Police say the gunfight at the corner of College and Crown streets resulted from a fight that began inside a nightclub.
It’s not clear if Tucker has a lawyer.
