The East Hampton Town Council wrapped up a late-morning meeting without taking action and without releasing the identity of the individual they were discussing.  The Council had said only it planned to discuss the removal of a “management level” employee,  but would not say whether the session was related to the controversy over the police chief.

Former Chief Matthew Reimondo lost his job when the Council eliminated the chief’s job in June at the request of Town Manager Jeffrey O’Keefe,  who said it was a cost-cutting move.
